When I saw her closing the door...

Women have always been marionettes, trapped in the cage of family and children. Their behaviors are restricted and manipulated by social norms and ethical judgments. This piece attempts to reproduce the moment when women have to close the door and say goodbye to their original identity, beliefs, and life after marriage and childbirth. It allows people to put themselves into the situation and reflect on the role they have played in it.
During the interaction, the little doll responds to the audience's voice and repeats their words. If the audience pulls the rope, the little doll will raise its hand and make the big doll turn back. The door will then be closed.
The installation uses an Arduino Uno board, a voice module, a speaker, a DC motor, and fishing lines to control the interaction system. The marionettes are sewn and then filled with cotton, while resin is used for other decorations.
